Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales)

As a Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales) at Overnox, you are the technical counterpart on every deal — the engineer prospects trust when they're deciding whether to bet their AI and infrastructure future on us. You'll partner with our Account Executives to run technical discovery, design reference architectures, build proofs-of-concept, respond to RFPs, and handle the hard technical objections that separate a signed deal from a stalled one. You translate ambiguous business goals into concrete, credible solutions across AI engineering, cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance. You'll spend most of your time with prospective clients — in whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and demos — earning credibility with skeptical CTOs, CISOs, and VPs of Engineering. You'll build POCs that prove feasibility and value, then help shape the SOW and hand off cleanly to delivery. You're equally comfortable going deep on a Kubernetes and LLM architecture and stepping up to tie it to business outcomes and ROI. This role matters because enterprise buyers don't buy AI consulting on slides — they buy it on technical trust. You are the person who builds that trust in the room, and who ensures what we sell is exactly what we can brilliantly deliver.

What you'll do

  • Partner with Account Executives as the technical lead on deals: discovery, solutioning, and technical objection handling
  • Run technical discovery with prospect CTOs, CISOs, and engineering leaders to understand requirements and constraints
  • Design reference architectures and solution proposals across AI engineering, cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance
  • Build and lead proofs-of-concept and technical demos that prove feasibility and business value, converting them into signed engagements
  • Own technical responses to RFPs/RFIs and security questionnaires, and run technical workshops and design sessions
  • Translate solutions into scoped SOWs alongside delivery leads, ensuring what's sold is what can be delivered
  • Serve as the voice of the field back to Overnox — surfacing patterns in client needs to inform our offerings and playbooks
  • Create reusable demo assets, architecture templates, and technical content that accelerate future deals

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or hands-on engineering with significant client-facing exposure
  • Strong architecture-level knowledge across at least two of: AI/LLM systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, and security/compliance
  • Proven ability to design solutions and build POCs that win technical buyers
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills — able to earn trust with both executive and deeply technical audiences
  • Experience owning RFP/RFI responses and security questionnaires
  • Comfort translating business needs into technical solutions and back into business outcomes and ROI
  • Self-directed, fast-learning, and comfortable across a broad and shifting technology landscape

Nice to have

  • Hands-on background building production AI, cloud, or security systems before moving to pre-sales
  • Experience integrating generative AI into enterprise systems (API gateways, model platforms, RAG)
  • Prior early-stage or high-growth startup pre-sales experience
  • Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications
  • Experience selling into regulated industries

Compensation

The listed range ($180k–$250k OTE + equity) is a good-faith estimate. Final compensation is based on your experience, level, and location, and includes meaningful equity. We benchmark pay against the market and review it regularly.
